About Death Watch
The purpose of the Death Watch maintained by the Afghanistan Journalists Center (AFJC) is to document and raise awareness about the dangers faced by journalists and media workers in Afghanistan. This list specifically includes individuals whose deaths can be directly linked to their work in journalism or media.
AFJC verifies each case thoroughly to ensure that the death was a result of the person's journalistic activities or the fact that they were working in the media industry. This means that deaths resulting from personal conflicts or unrelated incidents are not included in the Death Watch.
By maintaining this list, AFJC aims to draw attention to the risks faced by journalists and media workers in Afghanistan and to advocate for the protection of their rights and safety. It serves as a reminder of the challenges and dangers that journalists in the country face in carrying out their work.
