The deadline is approaching for students applying to the Master's program fall semester 2015/2016. A limited number of full scholarships will be available for selected students from developing and emerging countries.
Please note that we only accept online applications using our online application system. Applications sent otherwise will not be accepted. The closing date for applications is April 30, 2015.
The Program
The bilingual Master's Program combines the field of media and development with journalism, communications and media economics. Graduates are awarded the academic title "Master of Arts (M.A.)". The University of Bonn offers top IMS graduates the opportunity to pursue a doctorate.
Target group
The program is designed primarily for young journalists, media managers and communications staff from who come from developing and transition countries, and particularly from Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. However, Germans, EU citizens, Canadians, Americans and Australians may also apply.
Admission requirements
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent;
• At least 12 months of professional experience in a media-related field gathered after completion of an undergraduate degree. Applicants for full scholarships must provide proof of one additional year of professional experience;
• Proof of good written and oral German and English language skills.
Tuition fees and scholarships
The tuition fee is 6,000 EUR.
We grant full scholarships to up to 10 applicants each year. Prospective students from developing countries can apply for the full scholarship.
