The Directorate of Intelligence took them into custody due to their coverage of the Taliban's security measures implemented in the province.

Alongside him, Sayed NoorAgha Sa’dat, a reporter, and Safiullah Safa, a cameraman of Radio Television Afghanistan (RTA), were also taken into custody by the Directorate of Intelligence (GDI). This detention was a result of their reporting on the security measures implemented by the Taliban in the province.

Sirat Noori Pajhwok Reporter Threat Taliban police Mar 11 Mazar-e-Sharif Sirat, who was injured in the explosion during the press event in Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province, recently shared on his Facebook account that he was denied medical treatment at the provincial hospital due to orders from the local Taliban. According to him, a member of the Taliban exclaimed, "I wish all them [ journalists] were dead!" As a result of the blast, three individuals, including a journalist, lost their lives, while 19 other journalists sustained injuries.
Khalil Bana Freelance Reporter Arrest GDI Mar 12 Kabul Khalil was arrested by members of GDI, along with Nasrat Mahdi, a freelance cameraman in Kabul. The arrest was made in connection with their affiliation to Amu TV. The Taliban has accused several foreign-based media organizations, including Amu, of spreading propaganda against them.

Husain Naderi Afghan Voice Agency(AVA) Reporter killed ISIS-Khorasan Mar 11 Mazar-e-Sharif Husain killed in a bombing that took place during an Afghan press event in Mazar-e-Sharif, capital of northern Balkh province. The blast also resulted in injuries to at least 19 other media workers.
